Experienced Engineers

Team of expert engineers with more than 10 years of experience in prototyping.

Rapid Prototyping helps you with a mock up product to evaluate the design’s correctness and technical feasibility before it enters the market. With an increasing demand, rapid prototyping global market is growing exponentially and is set to reach USD 3780.33 million by 2027 according to reports. With our best-in-class team of engineers and other support experts, we assure reduced timelines from design-to-production. Whether you want to go for high or low fidelity, crude or refined prototypes, depending on your project and budget we can make it work for you.

Zeal offers all types of rapid prototyping services like Stereolithography (SL), Selective Laser Melting (SLM), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Digital Light Processing (DLP), Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) or Sheet Lamination, and Binder Jetting.

How much does rapid prototyping cost?

The pricing differs across different RP vendors. At Zeal, our costs are affordable and based on factors like quantity, size, processing technology, precision requirements, materials, surface treatment, geometry and finish of the prototypes.

How does it work?

The following steps are involved in prototyping:

  • Create a CAD model from a physical object through software like AutoCAD
  • Converting the CAD model to .STL format. Although there are other formats like IGES, HP, etc.STL is a universally preferred format
  • Slicing of the STL file into cross-sectional layers. At this stage, you can specify the parameters for the CAD model like part size, layer thickness which impacts the accuracy of the model and build time, number of duplicates.

  • Prototype items are built.
  • Post-processing in which the model is finished and cleaned. Based on the design, the type of rapid prototyping process, the intended use of the prototype whether for visualization or functional tests, additional support materials and processes may be required. For example, surface treatments such as sanding, sealing, painting, hardening, post-curing, etc.

Advantages of prototyping

  • Cost-effective method where you can save up to 70%[SDB1]
  • Less material wastage
  • No special tooling required to make the model
  • Flexibility to go for multiple design iterations with respect to colors, surface textures, designs and finishing processes
  • Potential to save nearly 40-70% of energy[SDB2]
  • Physical validation of designs at an early stage helps in reducing the overall risk
