FDM 3D PRINTING PROCESS

Once the 3D CAD model is ready, the printer is loaded with a spool containing thermoplastic filament. The printer nozzle is then heated to the desired temperature. After this, the thermoplastic filament is then fed for melting into the extrusion head and the nozzle. The nozzle and extrusion head is controlled by a computer to convert the dimensions of the 3D model into X, Y, and Z coordinates during the printing. The extrusion head is programmed to draw the part one layer at a time. The layer is then pushed down to the build platform after melting and extrusion is completed by the nozzle. Then a new layer is added for printing the remaining part.
